Afrikelp (Pty) Ltd is a member of the AfriKelp Holdings group of companies and stationed in southern Africa with strong global links to agriculture, organic farming and hydrocolloid production.
The company was established in South Africa in 1971 and has since been collecting, cultivating, sustainably harvesting and processing red and brown seaweeds for the production of growth stimulants in agriculture and horticulture. The group of companies also supplies raw material for animal feed, animal health and alginate production, as well as for agar extraction. There are two production facilities and offices; one at the source producing a concentrated liquid and the other in Cape Town, where testing, blending, packaging and distribution takes place.
Afrikelp (Pty) Ltd specialises in natural growth stimulants for green plants – AfriKelp – that improves the quality and quantity of agricultural crops. The product is extracted from the giant South African brown seaweed Ecklonia maxima, and the company operates from its offices in Cape Town, South Africa.
